Oatmeal Drop Cookies



Recipe for oatmeal drop cookies:

2 eggs
3/4 c. veg. oil
1/2 c. milk
1 c. honey
1 1/2 tea vanilla
2 1/2 c whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins
1 c. candied fruit mix, chopped

Beat eggs, add oil, milk, honey and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, salt, soda and spices. Blend in oats, nuts and fruits. Stir liquid into dry measure. Drop level tbsp dough onto greased baking sheets.

350 degrees - 10-12 minutes

Green Bean Bake


Just in time for Thanksgiving, here's a recipe for Green Bean Bake:

Cooking time - 30 min

1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 dash pepper
4 cups cooked, cut green beans
1 1/3 cups french fried onions

Mix soup, milk, soy sauce, pepper, beans and 2/3 cup onions in 1 1/2 casserole. Bake 350 degrees for 25 mins

Serves 6

Corn Relish



Recipe for corn relish:

18 ears corn
1 qt chopped cabbage
2 c diced celery
2 c chopped green pepper
1/2 c chopped red pepper
1 1/2 c chopped onion
2 c cider vinegar
1/2 c lemon juice
1 1/2 c sugar
3 T sakt
2 tea celery seed
2 T dry mustard
1/4 tea cayenne pepper
1 1/2 tea tumeric

Cut corn from cob and combine other vegetables in big kettle. Mix seasoning ingredients and add to vegetables. Stir well. Cook slowly for 35 minutes stirring often. Turn into hot jars filling to overflowing.

Raspberry Salad


Large volume recipe for Raspberry Salad:

Serves 50

15 pkgs (3 oz) raspberry jello
15 cups boiling water
10 - 10 1/2 oz. packages frozen raspberries
15 cups applesauce

Dissolve jello in hot water. Add unthawed berries. Stir to dissolve. Add applesauce and pour unto mold. Serve with whipped cream or mayonnaise thinned with cream.

Rosa Marina Salad


Recipe for Rosa Marina Salad:

1 lb box Rosa Marina
1 20 oz can crushed pineapple
1 15 oz can mandarin orange
1 8 oz Cool Whip

Drain fruit, saving juices. Mix juice, 4 eggs, 2 tablespoons flour. Cook until thickened over med heat, stirring so it doesn't burn. Chill.

Cook Rosa Marina accord. to pkg. Then chill with fruit.

When chilled, mix all ingredients including Cool Whip and chill

Babe Ruth Cookies


Recipe for "Babe Ruth Cookies."

1 egg
1 1/3 c flour
1/2 tea salt
3/4 c white sugar
1/2 tea soda
1/2 tea vanilla
1/2 c butter
2 - 5 cent bars, cut (I think they are probably referring to Baby Ruth candy bars)

Cream short (no mention of shortening above?) and sugar, beat in egg and other ingredients. Chill and bake 10-12 minutes at 375

Rhubarb Cobbler


Recipe for rhubarb cobbler:

1 C Sugar
1 C Flour
2 T Shortening
2 tsp. Bkg. Powder
Salt
3/4 Milk

Mix and then add 2 or 3 cups rhubarb.

Boil a cup of water with a cup of sugar and pour over all. Bake at 400 degrees 35 minutes.

9 x 13 pan or smaller

Corn Bread


Recipe for corn bread:

3 pints of sweet milk
2 tea spoons of soda
1 saucer of wheat flour
A little salt
1/2 cup molasses

Stir as thick as Johnny Cakes
Steam 2 1/2 hours (?)
Then put it in the oven 10 minutes and take it out and eat it.

Vegetarian Blender Puff

Recipe for Vegetarian Blender Puff:

Butter or margarine
Grated Parmesan cheese
4 eggs
4 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, cubed or shredded
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, cubed
1/3 c. milk or half and half
1/2 tsp. onion salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, cooked and drained
2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped

Butter bottom and sides of a 1-quart casserole. Dust with Parmesan cheese. Set aside. Combine eggs, Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, milk, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, onion salt and dry mustard in blender container.

Cover and blend at medium speed until smooth, about 30 seconds. Blend at high speed another 10 to 15 seconds. Pour into prepared dish. Toss together peas and chopped eggs. Fold gently into blended mixture. Bake at 350 degs. until puffed and delicately browned, about 45 mins. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.

Ice Cream


Recipe for ice cream:

4 or 6 eggs
Beat a long time and gradually add 1+ cup sugar. Beat til looks like cake batter.
Then add 1 can condensed milk, salt + vanilla.
Pour in freezer and add milk

Texas Sheet Cake and Frosting



Recipe for "Texas Sheet Cake + Frosting"

2 c sugar
2 c flour

In small pan mix:

2 stick Oleo
4 T cocoa
1 c H20

Bring to a rapid boil and pour over sugar and flour mixture

1/2 cup buttermilk
2 beaten eggs
1/2 tsp
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla

350 degrees 25 minutes

(Frosting)

Bring to boil
1/2 c butter
3 1/2 T cocoa
1/3 c milk

1 box P sugar (I think it should be confectioner's sugar)
1 tsp vanilla

Add sugar, beat in mixer
add vanilla
beat til creamy, add nuts

Pour over hot cake

Marinated Carrots

Recipe for marinated carrots:

2 lbs. carrots - clean and slice, then cook in salted water until tender; cool. Then combine the ff. ingredients:

2 lg onion, sliced into rings
1 lg pepper, cut into strips
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. salad oil
1 cup sugar
1 cup tomato soup
1 teas. dry mustard
1 teas. Worcestershire

Refrigerate. Marinate for 4 hrs. Stir once in a while

Chocolate Cookies


Recipe for chocolate cookies:

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup flour
2 sq. chocolate, cocoa can be used
1 cup nuts
1 egg
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp B. Powd.
Little salt,, vanilla and little cinnamon

Drop onto greased tin. When cooled, put a little frosting on each cookie

Spaghetti Sauce



Recipe for spaghetti sauce:

Saute:

1/3 c olive oil
1 onion chopped fine
2 chopped garlic buds

Add:

1 lb ground beef, brown and add
1 can tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 can (4 oz) mushrooms + liquid
1/2 tea salt
1/2 tea oregano
1/2 tea basil
bay leaf
thyme
parsley
chopped green pepper
1 c chopped celery

Cook 2 hours or until right consistency
